| (1) Swimming hole on property | 50 yards | Part of Ball Mountain Brook, the swimming hole is about 3.5 feet deep in the center. | You can access the brook from West Jamaica Road; look for the electrical pole at the low point in the road. |
| (2) Pikes Falls | 10 min. drive | A scenic waterfall with large swimming hole. Swimming area is about 9 feet deep in the center. Usually few visitors. | Follow Pikes Falls road (off of West Jamaica road) for about 3 miles until you see an old white house on the left side of this road. You will also pass a house on your right with a small pond in its garden; the trail to the falls will be ahead on your left. |
| (3) Grout Pond | 15 min. drive | A remote and beautiful pond in the Green Mountain N.F., with swiming, primitive camping at site. | Follow West Jamaica road (heading West, away from Jamaica and towards Stratton) for about 6 miles until you reach the Stratton/Arlington road. Make a right and follow for 7 miles. Make a left onto Grout Pond road. |
| (4) Jamaica State Park | 15 min. drive | Great (official) swimming hole in river in Jamaica State Park, called "Salmon Hole". Wonderful playground for kids, too. | Follow West Jamaica road (heading East, towards Jamaica) for about 7 miles until you reach the town of Jamaica. Follow the sign in Jamaica to the State Park. |
| (5) Townsend State Park | 25 min. drive | The Townshend Dam Recreation Area, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, is a recreational place for swimming. | Follow West Jamaica road towards Jamaica. Make a right onto route 30. From Jct. Hwy 30 and Town Rd.: Go 3 mi N on Town Rd. |
| (6) Lowell Lake State Park | 35 min. drive | This park has a scenic, flat hike around the lake perimeter. Beach access to the lake can be found at the location of the old camp. | Follow West Jamaica road towards Jamaica. Make a left onto route 30. Make a right onto route 100 towards Londonderry. From Londonderry, take Route 11 east. After 4 miles turn left on Lowell Lake Road, and take right at the fork. |
